In other words, Anderson Cooper was attacked with his crew while in Cairo:
In upsetting video footage released by CNN, above, Cooper can be heard declaring he was hit “like 10 times in the mouth” as he attempted to usher various members of his crew, one of them female, through the mob.
“Calm down,” he can be heard saying to the assailants. [I'm sure that was effective.]
As reader Tyler puts it:
The protesters in Egypt may be smarter than the Tea Partiers…they never thought that mobbing Anderson Cooper and his crew would make CNN leave.
I think it’s horrible that the situation in Egypt has escalated to the point where news crews are being attacked, but at the same time, when you walk into what can only be described as a civil war zone, you’re taking your life into your own hands. For all you out there who are fans of Anderson Cooper (yes, both of you,) don’t worry — he’s okay.
