As you know, I find black garbage pail kids black conservatives fascinating not because of what they believe, but rather because of how they entertain and perform for their White Conservative masters.When race minstrelsy was America’s most popular form of mass entertainment, black actors would often have to pretend to be white men, who then in turn would put on the cork to play the role of the “black” coon, Sambo, or Jumping Jim Crow. Adding insult to injury, in a truly perverse and twisted example of the power of American white supremacy black vaudevillians would often pretend to be white in order to denigrate black people for the pleasures of the white gaze.

Herman Cain–an ironic name if ever, and one more suited to a tragic figure in a Harlem Renaissance era novella–is not “blackening twice” as some race minstrels chose to do.

Instead, Herman Cain’s shtick is a version of race minstrelsy where he performs “authentic negritude” as wish fulfillment for White Conservative fantasies. Like the fountain at Lourdes, Cain in his designated role as black Conservative mascot, absolves the White racial reactionaries at CPAC of their sins. This is a refined performance that Black Conservatives have perfected over many decades and centuries of practice.

The author “Chauncey DeVega” (who also writes for Salon.com and has apparently been featured in the New York Times goes on further to call Cain a “monkey in the window” and make several other despicable accusations centering around the man’s race. DeVega is a prime example of how the left gifts an exemption to people of color to want to be racist. If a White person made the accusations that DeVega has against Cain, they would instantly be outcasted as a racist — and rightfully so. Given his “official” blackness that qualifies him to determine solely who is worthy of their race of not, he attempts to remove Herman Cain’s right to decide for himself what political ideology makes the most sense.

Unlike alleged Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, conservatives such as Herman Cain, Ward Connerly, Lt. Col. Allen West — and the list goes on — don’t need their race as a crutch for success. Rather, they let the Martin Luther King, Jr. philosophy shine through and rely on the content of their character. Of course, the attacks from the left because of this are endless. Only recently, Justice Clarence Thomas had to deal with threats of lynching from those who didn’t agree with his chosen ideology. Black nationalists on the Left think that any black person who refuses to become a victim to the state and to history is an “Uncle Tom,” or a turncoat of sorts, when they’re the ones turning their backs on reality.

The Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada, Canada’s oldest continuously-serving infantry regiment, is celebrating its 150th Anniversary on April 23^rd through the 25^th, 2010 in Toronto.  The highlight of the anniversary weekend is the Reunion Dinner at the Westin Harbour Castle, on Saturday, April 24th, where the Regiment’s Colonel-In-Chief, Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra, The Lady Ogilvy, will be the guest of honour. Over 1,000 past and present members of the Regiment and guests are expected to attend the reunion weekend celebration.

Additional weekend anniversary activities include a “Meet and Greet” to be held on the parade square at Moss Park Armoury, on Friday evening, April 23^rd. Displays of military equipment, vehicles, weapons and uniformed re-enactors representing the Regiment’s entire 150 years of service to Canada will be on display. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Gentleman Buglers of The Queens Own Rifles, and The Queens Own Rifles Military Band.

Other weekend activities include a trip to Castle Loma, where former members of the Regiment and guests will visit the Regimental Museum and a Regimental Church Parade on Sunday April 25^th, to St. Paul’s Anglican Church, in Toronto. After attending a service at the Church, the Princess will meet with members of the Regiment and family members at Moss Park Armoury, on Sunday Afternoon.

Members of the Queen’s Own Rifles have been instrumental in assuring Western victories since their formation in April of 1860. The QOR had 7,500 soldiers fighting in World War I, and in World War II was the only Allied unit to reach its objective on D-Day. They have also served in conficts since then such as Korea, Cyprus, and presently, Afghanistan.

Interestingly, it doesn’t seem that the mainstream media has bothered to give this event any coverage. So fellow bloggers, please pick this story up and run with it. Very rarely do we get the chance to celebrate and remember true heroes outside of November 11th; one day is not enough.

The regiment was formed in Toronto on 26 April, 1860, as the 2nd Battalion Volunteer Militia Rifles of Canada and was at one time officially named The Queen’s Own Rifles of Toronto. The Regiment has fought at home and abroad since its first engagement at the Battle of Ridgeway, Ontario, during the Fenian Raids in 1866.

In the First World War, 7,562 Queen’s Own soldiers served with distinction, winning twenty one battle honours: 1,254 soldiers were killed in action.

During the Second World War, on D-Day, June 6^th, 1944, The Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada was in the leading assault wave on Juno Beach and was the only Allied unit to successfully reach its D-Day objective. The Regiment fought through Normandy, into Belgium and the Netherlands, and crossed the border into Germany. During these battles, 393 Queens Own soldiers were killed in action, and 873 were wounded.

Members of The Queens Own Rifles have served in many peacekeeping missions including Korea and Cyprus and members of the Regiment are currently serving in Afghanistan.
