Very nice work. They don’t make’em any smarter than Steyn, and you guys were right to sit back and just let him talk for extended periods. Doing so led to a nice flow to the interview, and you handled it nicely.

Yeah, I love to hear Mark nattering on, but that’s all he seems to be doing these days. He’s always the guest on some radio show, or picking up an award, or making an appearance at some event either in New England or Canada. Have you checked his website lately? It’s woefully bereft of any current writings/articles. He hasn’t written anything in months. I wonder what’s REALLY going on with him? My sis lives in So Cal, and she used to look forward to reading his column in the OC Register, but recently there’s been nada.

AVM – I agree that Mark’s website is short on content (he did warn us that he was taking the summer off) and clearly he is in demand as a speaker so I don’t begrudge him that. I suspect come November he will be posting again.

I am a huge fan, but like others I am a bit miffed that Steyn is unable to write as he accepts awards and talks on TV or radio. Its been since July and no matter the awards, I wonder, what else is going on?

My slow and natural conservative epiphany began with P.J O’Rourke, then Steyn, Michelle Malkin, Anne Coulter, Churchill, Reagan, Patton, Limbaugh, then Breitbart, Mark Levin, Michael Savage, Tim Blair, Andrew Bolt and so on. No, really. I have never looked back except in wonder at what took me so long. Oh yes, the ability to buy more books and the Internet. No, really. God bless Steyn. Colonel Neville.

It’s to bad the Universities and Media didn’t want Conservatives speakers to appear in Canada as much as they support poor Omar Kadr getting back to Canada, out of the hands of that terrible, violent, US military.
Yes, here we go again on our news networks. Let’s hear how bad he is being treated, how much he was tortured, how he was just a boy. I’m sure he tells nothing but the truth, while the US military tells nothing but lies. For the media to back up their position and prove how all Canadians stand by the terrorist, I’m sure they will ask notably leaders, like Jack Layton or Micheal Ignatiuf for their unbias opinions.
Here’s my idea, and may I add the idea of Canadians I talk to. Let the murdering, terrorist piece of garbage rot in an American jail. I don’t want to spend one cent of my tax money feeding this useless waste of skin.

If the Strictly Right organizers actually read this then they should know that I have sent e-mails to the London Convention Center in London, Ontario as well as the Mayor of London and that of MP Ed Holder regarding disallowing of Mark Steyn to speak at the LCC. The head of the LCC has already forwarded her reply to me that she did nothing wrong, that she was not coerced by Muslim groups and that they did not have a contract with Mark Steyn. Whether they had a contract with Mark Steyn or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is that if Muslim groups pursued a course to stop Mark Steyn speaking at the LCC, and that I believe they have done so regardless of the LCC leadership saying otherwise, the organizers at the LCC should have given Mark Steyn a speaking engagement based on principles of freedom of speech and right of all to speak at the LCC. Since the City of London owns the LCC they should not allow themselves to be cowed by threats, coercian and intimidation by Muslim groups. However, I have yet to hear from Ed Holder’s office or the Mayor’s office and several council members that I contacted at the City of London. Will send Stricly Right notice when I have this information.

These fear mongers are just out to make a buck. I remember my grandfather telling me when he lived in Germany in the 30s it was the same sort of thing. The Nazis were going to take all the Jews’ property, deport them, murder them, whatever. Then we were supposed to believe they would annex Austria, Sudetenland, attack Poland. It was really all just political hype.
…and oh yeah. Back in those days they had their own Mark Steyn. He was an Englishman called Winston Churchill. All the while heroes like Neville Chamberlain were brokering for peace, this nut job was going around Europe telling everyone that the Nazis were going to do this evil thing or that evil thing and we should do something about it, stand up to him ,etc.
Wow, did history ever prove HIM wrong, eh?

Would love nothing more than to have a gathering with Mark Steyn and his current opinions on whatever are the hot international topics of the day at least once every three months!
