Happy Birthday, Mr. President

Today is the Great Liberator’s 64th birthday. The man born in New Haven, Connecticut is know for where he grew up – Texas. Labeled a ‘go-at-it-alone cowboy,’ a classification he undoubtedly relished, George W. Bush was never afraid of what others thought of him. As president, he did what he had to to protect his country.

President Bush was forced to go to war. After September 11, it was clear that Muslim extremists could not be dealt with or ignored. George W. Bush understood the situation and made the most difficult decision a Commander in Chief can make- he sent American men and women into harms way. Mr. Bush realized that there was no other alternative. As a result of the successful toppling of Saddam Hussein in Iraq, and the Taliban in Afghanistan, President Bush is responsible for the liberating of millions of Muslims, something he is rarely given credit for.

As a direct result of President Bush taking the fight to the enemy, through his administration’s aggressive prosecution of the Global War on Terror, the United States was not hit by terrorists after 9/11. Ignoring politically motivated attacks from both the media and the Democratic Party, George W. Bush did what needed to be done to keep the United States safe.

In celebrating his birthday, Americans, and people from all across the world, should be thankful that as Zell Miller said, “a God-fearing man with a good heart and a spine of tempered steel” occupied the Oval Office in such perilous times. President Bush’s moral fortitude and clear vision were essential at the onset of the War on Terrorism. Most of all, George W. Bush is an ardent patriot and a great proponent of American Exceptionalism.

Happy birthday, Mr President!

P.S. This is what a leader looks like:
