Political correctness kills again
Political correctness seems to be an emerging theme on Strictly Right, ravaging the halls of schools, workplaces and blogs all around the world. It’s unfortunate that this time, political correctness led a British medical technician to kill himself.
A medical technician killed himself after being suspended from work after someone complained that he made a politically-incorrect joke about a black friend.
Roy Amor, 61, who was devastated at the prospect of losing his job making prosthetics, shot himself in the head outside his house.
He was facing a disciplinary investigation after suggesting to the black colleague that he ‘better hide’ when they noticed immigration officers outside their clinic.
It is understood that the man was a close friend of Mr Amor and was not offended. However, it was overheard by someone else who lodged a formal complaint.
This whole ‘PC’ trend has not only made humor a lot more challenging, but it has led to the destruction of peoples’ lives and livelihoods. In this case, that life can never be brought back.
I’ll be the first to admit that Mr. Amor likely had some psychological issues before this whole thing happened, but it would be stupid to ignore the fact that this man who everyone seemed to love (except an ignorant white liberal lacking a sense of humor) was pushed over the edge directly because of the fear that his colleagues may think he’s a racist, and the fear that his job may be in jeopardy because of a [pretty funny] joke to a friend.
My sincerest prayers go out to Mr. Amor and his family. I hope all of the censors on the left will ask themselves the question: which is worse, a harmless joke enjoyed by those involved, or the death of an innocent, kind family-man?

Political correctness is a cancer on society, and is simply destroying us from the inside out. We’re so paranoid about sounding racist that we dont even write things like that on witness statements anymore for fear or being labelled racist when we were just attacked by someone.

Greg: Political correctness exists everywhere, and it’s just as toxic wherever it goes. This guy may or may not have had issues…but the fact remains that he pulled the trigger because of the smearing that was happening based merely on an accusation from someone who likely had no “right” to be offended by the comment.

Isn’t this how people lived in the USSR? Didn’t it used to be that, in that place, if you said the wrong thing, you could disappear?
Didn’t we once stand against this kind of thing? Why are we letting it happen now?
We could stand up to Russians, because they were white, too?
