The problem with feminazis

We all know how damaging feminism has been to…well, to pretty much everything. Feminism has been helping teenage girls to get knocked up, dress skankily, find imagery of sexism everywhere, all the while hating men. Apparently having an abortion on YouTube is the latest trend for the feminazi movement. I won’t link to the actual video for two reasons. 1) I think it’s deplorable; 2) If you are really set on finding it, you wont find any trouble.

The video itself isn’t graphic at all, it’s just an annoying attention-seeking atheist talking. Apparently the real graphic stuff were her live “Tweets” about the process.

The first three sentences of this post are not true. Pure logical fallacies. There isn’t even a grain of truth within them. There are some good posts on here, but you’ve got to please think a bit before you write something as horrible and stupid as this.

Al, apparently you’ve never been trapped in a Women’s Studies classroom in university. I was required to take Women’s Studies to get my degree in Comparative Literature, and I can tell you, all it was was an angry woman at the front of the room (perpetually on the rag, I’m only ever that pissy once a month, and she was like that continuously) telling a whole group of young women (and a few effiminate men) that the white man (quite specific here, evil seemed to be based on your skin color and gender, the white man was the devil, the black man was somewhat evil cause he’s a man and the white woman is also somewhat evil cause she’s white) is an oppressive racist sexist sonofabitch whose very existence should be purged from this planet.
I had to write a pro-abortion essay to pass this class, and ended up seeing a psychiatrist just so I could talk to someone about selling my soul for a passing grade. I walked out of two classes and made it out with a D- (in part because my pro-abortion essay was a resounding F, apparently I didnt have a convincing argument) and an appeal to my department head complete with recordings from class to back up my reasons for my extreme discomfort and my desire for my university to pay my psych bill. It was hell.
Until you have to sit through 4 months of feminist hate-speech against all things without breasts and write essays COMPLETELY contrary to your personal beliefs, stick it in your ear Al.
What Andrew said was absolutely correct.

  3. Andrew Lawton Says:

Thanks Kawen — when I refer to feminism I’m not talking about the 1960′s movement for equality…but rather about the radical man-hating feminism that is rampant in today’s culture (particularly based on your stories about university.)

Al — how is it a logical fallacy to point out an unfortunate truth in a movement that prides itself on telling women that they can do whatever they want with their bodies, even when it costs the life of another or forces them to feel that it’s okay to sleep around?

  4. Rebekah Says:

I disagree with the word “feminazi” for various reasons…but I don’t think that the term is far off from the reality of the situation. Feminists are vile, destructive, over-sexualized hypocrites who get off on over-reacting to everything and finding hidden sexism in slices of toast.

  5. Kawen Says:

Its not just in toast Rebekah. Sexism is also found in spreads commonly used on toast (and lets not forget the inherent racism of toast, with its whole white and brown bread). Dont even get started on the sexism in other breakfast foods.

  6. James Says:

Harsh Andrew, I love it! Don’t let the political correct nutjobs keep you from sharing the truth.

  7. Al Says:

“We all know how damaging feminism has been to…well, to pretty much everything. ”

But you say you aren’t referring to the movement for equality (which wasn’t solely in the sixties at all…but whatever). However, feminism is ONLY the movement for equality and the simple idea that women are human beings. There is still a wage gap, there is still a glass ceiling. Until these these things don’t exist, feminism is necessary. Your broad overarching statement is a logical fallacy. How has it been damaging? To everything? What about the fact that without it women would not be able to do the things that men can do without issue? What about the fact that women STILL can’t freely do the things men can do? Why does Sarah Palin so frequently get called a “strident bitch” just for being a leader? What has feminism damaged? Oh wait, you claim…

“Feminism has been helping teenage girls to get knocked up, dress skankily, find imagery of sexism everywhere, all the while hating men.”

Feminism has not helped teenage girls do any of these things. All of these things have pretty much been happening since…forever. (Besides, all you did in that sentence was employ the “slippery slope” logical fallacy.) In fact, feminism seeks to eliminate these things: feminists want teenage girls to understand they don’t have to rely on men to be successful; they don’t have to let a man get her pregnant or dress like a skank to attract one, they don’t have to hate men because women and men are euqual, etc. As for finding imagery of sexism everywhere…well, there’s imagery of EVERYTHING everywhere. Finding imagery of stuff is not the fault of feminists but of academics. Sigh.

“Apparently having an abortion on YouTube is the latest trend for the feminazi movement.”

No. Someone had an abortion on YouTube. This is not “the latest trend”. Jumping to conclusions: logical fallacy. As a feminist, I think the abortion video is gross. I am also pro-life. Because feminists can be that! That’s why you got an F on your essay, Kaween. If you’d stood up for what you believed in, you could have written a convincing argument.

Was it a first year women’s studies class? Because if so, that’s why it was so extreme and hateful. First year women’s studies classes are meant to shock and to amplify things that really only have grains of truth in them, just to get people to look at the world around them in radically different ways. University, eh? You also clearly just had a bad professor, which is a shame. It’s stupid, but is it feminism’s fault? No. Again, academics. They’re in the minority anyways thankfully.

  8. Kawen Says:

If a first year’s women’s studies class is meant to be shocking and full of hyperbolic vitirol, then it shouldnt be a class, nor should it have a faculty, nor should people be able to get a degree in it.
Women typically make less in business than their male counterparts for two reasons: 1 they arent balsy enough to ask for double what they think they’re worth, and 2 eventually they take time off to have babies, and as such, allow their careers to fall by the wayside for a couple of years, thus the reason for the disparity in pay.

My class argued ONLY in favor of abortion, because any woman who doesnt believe in abortion is simply toeing the “other-people-control-my-body” line, the essay was “Abortion has furthered the advancement of women’s rights in Canada and abroad, explain how, citing references, 1000 words”. If I had stood up for what I believed in, I would have been failed in the entire class, experience in a Canadian PolySci class taught me that trick when I took issue with being told how to vote. University, like feminism, is not about standing up for what you believe in or writing convincing arguments. Its about bullshitting your way to a degree so you can get those little letters after your name, regurgitating back what your professor wants to hear, and gritting your teeth if you want to speak up.
Back in the old days it was about new ideas, equality, freedom of expression. Nowadays, its about shutting up, keeping your head down, and getting the hell out (across the border, into the real world) before the feminazis realize you’re one of them and put you in a reeducation facility.
