At school today I learned arithmetic…
…and got an abortion.
When she signed a consent form, Jill [A Ballard High School girl's mother] figured it meant her 15 year old could go to the Ballard Teen Health Center located inside the high school for an earache, a sports physical, even birth control, but not for help terminating a pregnancy.
“She took a pregnancy test at school at the teen health center,” she said. “Nowhere in this paperwork does it mention abortion or facilitating abortion.”
Jill says her daughter, a pro-life advocate, was given a pass, put in a taxi and sent off to have an abortion during school hours all without her family knowing.
“We had no idea this was being facilitated on campus,” said Jill. “They just told her that if she concealed it from her family, that it would be free of charge and no financial responsibility.”
Here at Strictly Right we frequently bash the modern education system for a plethora of reasons. They teach promiscuity, homosexuality, anti-Westernism, pro-racism and a variety of other socially detrimental qualities. My understanding was that schools’ advocacy of abortion was limited to teach girls it was an option, not setting it up for them. Parents need to give consent for a child to hop on a bus to go to a theater. However, to put them in a taxi and send them off to have their baby murdered in the school day, parents don’t even find out about it.
Parents, home-school your kids, seriously.

What is wrong with homosexuality?

This is disgusting how the schools are trying to replace the parents. It’s been going on for years, but now you’re not allowed to challenge it even. Kudos to this girl’s mother for not just staying silent and letting the school take Draconian control.

And ‘J,’ in the words of MIchael Savage: “Go eat a sausage and choke on it. Get trichinosis and die.”

“But Jill says she not only didn’t have a say in her daughter’s abortion, but also didn’t know about it.
“Makes me feel like my rights were completely stripped away.”"
I’m just wondering, what are the daughter’s thoughts on all of this. Where is her voice and why does no one care about *her* rights and choices? I don’t understand what “Jill’s” rights have to do with a decision her daughter made… Also Jill does not seem to have really cared to ask why her daughter would be going to a teen health clinic, she just “figured it meant” treatment for an earache or birth control.

Good question Heather — and unfortunately the media isn’t allowed to report anything about the daughter unless she comes forward…which she obviously hasn’t. Obviously her needs are important too — but if she wanted to get plastic surgery, she would need parental consent. If she needed to get even an emergency life-saving surgery she would need parental consent. Why is the school allowed to arrange an abortion behind her back?

Cause murder doesnt require consent Andrew.

@Greg Stewart
In the state of Washington parental consent is not required for an abortion at any age. Maybe this mother should work on opening the lines of communication with her child instead of relying on the state government to do it for her. She describes her daughter as “a pro-life advocate”. In light of recent events, it seems she may not know her daughter as well as she thinks. Plus, if you actually read the whole article, you’d know that the school had nothing to do with it – the health clinic is run by Swedish Medical Center.
As for your second comment, wow, hate speech! Shocking to see that from an Andrew Lawton supporter.

I’m not familiar with consent laws in Washington State but when a 15 year old becomes pregnant, shouldn’t there be questions about statutory rape or child sexual abuse?

Parents are just supposed to provide all their children’s needs and their greeds, don’t ask questions and keep paying. What is an abortion referral service doing on public property anyway? Was this girl counselled on adoption alternatives? Was she properly informed on the dangers of abortion? Doubtful.
Yeah, home-schooling was a better alternative but too many families are double income so not very practical in this world of gotta have the big screen TV.
