A Canadian Tea Party!
It’s finally happened! I encourage everyone to sign up for this. A “Tea Party” is not just an American concept, it’s for anyone who feels government has gone too far. And this time, the Tea is maple-flavored
From the “Maple Tea Party” Facebook group:
When Sir John A. MacDonald became the first Prime Minister of Canada in 1867, he was bringing a long tradition of democracy and common law from England…along with common sense. Over time, common sense became less and less common in government. As more time passed, government in Canada became bigger and bigger. Now, government over-taxes, over-spends, and expects us — the Canadian people — to foot the bill.
Being Canadians, we didn’t say “NO” when things were getting out of hand. Government now runs our education system, our hospitals, and every other part of our lives. They event want to change a national anthem that we’ve had for a hundred years to become “politically correct.”
We do NOT need to stand for this. We don’t adapt to meet the whims of government, the government needs to represent us.
It’s time for Canadians to have a Maple Tea Party and show the government that they’ve gone to far, once and for all.

It’s about darn time! Canadians have been playing the part of the doormat for way too long now.

I don’t like that they just seem to have copy/pasted something from the copywriting of an American Tea Party group. The “founding fathers thing” kind of makes sense down there in the States, but our founding fathers were socialists and anti-American government protectionists who would pretty much hate the Tea Party movement. Still, good that people are mobilizing.

Wow you people are soooo stupid you actually scare me! If I put a picture of a hot blonde on the cover of Mein Kempf i’m sure the same idiots who think privatizing essential services to corporations unconcerned with much other their profit margins is intelligent. Geee whiz guys where can we find unsuccessful examples of privatization? I know, right next to us in the United States of America! I guess since none of you morons bothered to look past the gorgeous poster girl and do some research you havent heard that the USA has by far the MOST EXPENSIVE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM IN THE WORLD! Im sure the 50 million Americans without health insurance could tell you a thing or two about that. And about that whole “Tea Party” episode you retards are so happy with, I mean WOW did you guys ever ever fail to live up to the standards and morals set forth by your founding fathers. I mean those guys aren’t just turning over in their graves, THEYRE PULLING FLIPS FASTER THAN ANN COULTOR CAN TELL OFF HER ASIAN DRY CLEANERS! There should definitely be a new generation of tea partiers, most notably the immigrants who who have built modern America and instead of receiving gratitude instead get to hear Ann FREAKIN Coultor bitch because she hates black people and doesn’t like Michelles Obama’s style(LOL). Yea cause any republican jackass knows that the road to success is paved with sensible black shoes and a dark, sober suit for men and for the ladies(ANN COULTOR) remember a black dress with a hemline just above the knees so youre not too obviously slatternly And thats it for today folks, remember, if you disagree with me, you’re probably an idiot and i will direct you to a secluded high bridge where you can do the world a favour by jumping off!

It’s about time !! Let’s get organized and start a grass roots movement against the liberal lunacy. Canada is the only nation in the world that has stood by while its identity has been slowly dismantled. We should stand proudly for our Bi cultural heritage, first save, then restore it. This can only be done by people who have the courage to fight back against such things such as out of control immigration, political correctness ( lying in the name of distorted ultra liberalism) and a bureaucratic vision of a washed out multicultural nightmare. This is the beginning of something wonderful.
September 1st, 2010 at 3:17 pm
Feel free to move to the States. Most expensive and ineffective health care in the world (number 23 out of developed nations, any takers?), gun crime at ten times the rate of Canada, the worlds worst gouging bankers and insurance companies. Shall I go on. Nice place to visit, certainly not to live. Canada is not perfect, but a lot better than the good old US of A.
The US Tea Party has no ideas, just critisism. The name is even an oximoron. The Boston Tea Party after which they named themselves was a reactionary move by then colonial British merchants against the British crown for levying an excise tax on tea. The tax was to pay for the deployment of British troops, you guessed it, to protect those same merchants trading interests.
The second part is that the tea party has only one common denominator. And that is anger. Which often boils over into hatred. Some are against immigrants of all stripes (neglecting that except for the very small number of native north americans) we are all immigrants. Some see bicycling as a communist plot against the great American dream (Colorado Republican candidate), a former governor from Alaska with wind between her ears is advocating plundering of natural resources and destruction of North American wilderness for the sake of being contary. All of this stoked by a billionaire Australian (owner of Fox News) with an axe to grind wherever he goes. I can go on and on and on…….
Do we really want this kind of nonsense north of the border? I think not. As I said before, feel free to move from my multicultural tolerant country and embrace the United States. By all means. Michigan and Ohio are looking for immigrants with money to spend real desperately.
Xenophobia knows no bounds, but the tea party is redefining the concept, without being able to pronounce it.
A P.S. for Perry: Look up the word liberal in the dictionary. It will tell you that it is derived from the latin ‘liber’. This happens to mean ‘free’. So by definition a liberal is someone who wants freedom, nothing more nothing less. Back to high school English, my boy.
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:05 pm
Dear CG,
Latin etymology and condescending final salutations will not obscure the truth “old chap.” It is possible to find extreme examples on both sides of the political spectrum of individuals who have taken leave of their senses. For example, liberals continually try to associate all Christians with the kind of people who are in the film ” Jesus Camp.” That would be like associating all moderate muslims with the Taliban, then making a film about one of their training camps and saying “See ! They are all like this.” Liberal hatred of Christianity will not obscure the facts that most Christians are not like the individuals in “Jesus Camp.”
We also know, or ought to, that according to a recent Gallup poll 93% of Muslims are moderate. However, that still leaves 91 million Muslims with a radical agenda or sentiments. Ignoring the fact that if they formed a nation they would be the eleventh largest in the world will not help us to deal with them. Liberals love to ignore facts that do not affirm their view of the world.
What is really happening here is that popular discontent with wasteful, inefficient and non sensical government and ideological oppression, is boiling over and has become a wider movement. It is bound to take on forms which are questionable in the most extreme examples, but that does not mean that it is either inaccurate or wrong. Quite the contrary.
Here in Canada, the home of liberal statism, we have our own versions of injustice and institutionalized idiocy. Canadians are just now becoming aware of them, and once they become apparent even Canadians will react. It is inevitable.
Consider the fact that in most school districts in my province the mention of Christmas during the “holiday season” which is increasingly being called “Winter Break” is now forbidden. Did Christmas disappear? Was its long history an anomaly that we must now inform our children was a part of the evil pre multicultural colonialist world of bi cultural Canada, a time of terrible oppression in which our present uber tolerant enlightened liberalism did not yet exist? Apparently. This is only one example.
What is most ironic about this is that liberalism, in attempting to legislate “tolerance” through things like “politically correct” language and multiculturalism is actually crushing free expression in its attempt to control both the thoughts and language of its citizens. I can’t think of a more oppressive situation than this unless one wants to hearken back to Soviet era Eastern Europe. There are plenty of older Canadian citizens originally from countries like Czechoslovakia who will tell you this is not the way to go.
Since this is “your” multicultural tolerant country may I make a suggestion? Perhaps you should have more compassion and move south to Michigan where you can evangelize amongst the unenlightened hordes of apostate Americans. If you really want to imitate St. Boniface the opportunity is there.

Dear CG,
I am surprised you have not yet replied, but I suppose it is to be expected. What did you expect, some undereducated, white trash, impoverished trailer park denizen incapable of a cogent reply? It would fit your image of what you would like conservatives to be, but is off the mark by miles.
Mr. Lawton,
Congratulations on finally having the courage to say what many of us have been thinking for years. You can count on my whole hearted support in the years to come.

A stupid idea for stupid people. Tea parties are for little girls and their imaginary friends.
September 14th, 2010 at 7:08 pm
That’s what they thought in America in April of 2009. Now they are taking a second look at the Tea party movement. They didn’t count on it being so powerful, and why is it gaining in power? Because people are fed up.
They are fed up with an elite liberal group of politicians and bureaucrats telling them what to do, and that their opinions do not matter. We have a Conservative government here in Canada, but do you really think it listens to the people? It does not.
Look at what has happened to Canada since the Trudeau era. There has been an erosion of Canada’s strength and core values since that time that can only be described as shockingly. What is Canada anymore anyway? The gradual liberalization of our society and increasingly liberal policies of our government has accomplished nothing of merit.
Our bi-cultural heritage has been slowly replaced by a politically correct multicultural nihilism that honours nothing and attempts to destroy our once great heritage and values.
In 1947 Canada had the second highest standard of living in the world, and the fourth largest navy. We were a strongly homogeneous society with an accepted value system based on our Judeo Christian heritage. We were hard working people with an astoundingly low crime rate and we had proven our unrivaled courage in two world wars that had shown what a great nation we were.
Now 31 % of the province of Ontario was born outside the country. Chinese drug gangs from Vancouver fight for control of Kelowna and the lower mainland. Islamic terroists have plotted more than once to blow up cherished public landmarks. The main cash crop of British Columbia is marijuana. R.C.M.P. officers, once cherished as the best policemen in the world, are continuously caught in scandals. Toronto is a fertile recruiting ground for Somalian terrorists, and we have only begun to scratch the surface.
This Canada? This Canada is nothing compared to what it once was. Give us our country back, and don’t bother to give us any more of that liberal nonsense about an “ever changing” Canada. Let us once again find our center and think for ourselves. It is what made Canada great. Let’s make Canada great again, not a collection of ” diverse communities” That’s where our native born future Islamic terrorists are now being created.

Really and truly and movement Tea Party or otherwise should be putting aside partisan differences. People need to unite and realize this isn’t about conservative or liberal. Its about the government not working for the people. We are working for the government. Regardless of who is in power We are in power in a truly democratic country. My opinion conservatives can fuck off liberals can fuck off. PEOPLE need to work together to make this a country and not the fifedom its become
October 6th, 2010 at 6:46 pm
Does anyone notice that the looney left has very little inteligent to argue on their side of things. Just call everyone names and call them liars, but not one can give a good example of the supposed lies.
It’s about time we had a Canadian Tea Party. Canadians are 20 years ahead of America down the communist path. What we need is a Canadian Fox News that will bring us the truth, fair and balanced. We certainly don’t get that from our media. They are liberal infected and so are our schools.
October 6th, 2010 at 9:05 pm
You are absolutely right Leigh. The left just screams obscenities and calls everyone who disagrees with them racists. They seldom, if ever, look at the facts. If you present them with facts they just get angry and threaten you.
By the way a new Canadian Fox News network is being formed and promoted by Quebecor. It is called Sun TV I believe, and will finally bring a different point of view to the discussion. The main line Canadian networks, are, as you say, ridiculously liberal and biased. Our universities are the same, infected with radical liberals in almost all the academic posts. There is no free discourse in the Canadian university classroom.
If you really want to make a difference, support the establishment of Sun TV. You might also want to support some very fine organizations such as Immigration Watch Canada and C.I.P.R. ( Council for Immigration Policy Reform) They are attempting to bring some sanity to Canada’s rapidly deteriorating sense of itself and imbalanced immigration policies.
We need balance again, and we are not going to get it from the C.B.C. and openly biased people like Mark Kelly. It is time for all of us who feel this way to start following our convictions.
October 7th, 2010 at 11:52 pm
Thanks for the tip on Sun TV. I watch Fox all the time, but I wouldn’t mind watching some Canadian news. All CTV, CBC, and Global ever do is promote their agendas. They bring very little real news that people care about, but they go on and on about the ridiculous gun registry, or the long senses form (both of which are nothing but government taking power from the people), or if their is a couple of homosexuals getting married somewhere in the world. Kind of like the news story they had last year about the lesbian couple who had an easter egg hunt for their kid.
Then they brag about bringing you the news with a Canadian perspectiver. I don’t need their perspective, just give me the news, the real news.
October 11th, 2010 at 1:21 pm
My pleasure to help you find Sun TV. It is trying to get started and meeting resistance from people who don’t want to see a conservative voice in Canada. What nonsense. You have free speech as long as what you say is liberal. If you don’t agree with liberals you must be silenced. The agenda of the left is so obvious it is pathetic. Homosexuality, multiculturalism, (anti white sentiment) socialism, statism, radical feminism, anti Christian cant and so on.
To think that Canada has come to this is enough to make you cry. Basically what we have here is a new socialistic fascism institutionalized in the public services and media of our nation. Time to start correcting this, and the first step is to refuse to back down to it. You can do that by supporting Sun TV and the two other organizations I have mentioned. In the meantime good luck to you and all the best
October 27th, 2010 at 10:38 pm
While reading a Recent Glen Pearson article, one instantly understands that the last two sentences in the next-to-last paragraph describe the essence of modern Canada’s socialist system.
The remarks by ‘Not a Retard & CG’ follow Pearson’s thinking in perfect lockstep.
Certainly a deep philosophical move away from the style of government that my relatives fought & died for just 60 years ago. Trudeau changed all that.
The concept that government can actually & literally provide and be responsible for our “Freedom, Justice & Prosperity” is irresponsible, at best. As individual Canadians, we are responsible for our own ‘Freedom, Justice & Prosperity’…!!!
When we debate issues like the increasing size of government and exponentially accelerating goverment spending (Ontario), or worse, when we don’t debate them and the majority party simply forces it’s will on the population, we are really debating what kind of country we want to have.
Will it be a place where the freedoms that we still have (and those that helped make us great) are preserved and adapted to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century…??
Or will it be a place that we don’t recognize; a country whose citizens are so dependent on and so enslaved by big government that we no longer control our own destinies..??
Bring on the Maple Tea Party…!!!

Please bring on the right here in Canada – we have been “suppressed” “oppressed” and controlled by the lefties for way too many years. Canada is not a lefty nation it is conservative,Christian, and holds love of family and country high on our list. We never were for this multiculturalism crap that Europe is now throwing out as quickly as last week’s sour milk. We want the government to ‘CONTROL – not only where our immigrants come from, but how many of them come. We will not tolerate incidents like the tammil migrants, OF THIS LAST SUMMER and that gangster that came over with the rubber headgear last week – SEND HIM BACK , government of Canada – NOW.
Let us start our own movement – I like Strictly right.com – forget the tea party – that is USA, not us. Let’s get a right-wing TV station like Fox news here in Canada. It is really really overdue. Let’s become a force the central government (no matter the party) will HAVE to listen to cause we are organized, know what we want and go after it.
November 11th, 2010 at 2:40 pm
Exactly !!! Couldn’t have said it better myself. The left and liberalism has had control of Canada for 40 years now. That’s long enough!! As you said v.roach, Canada’s real nature is Conservative and Christian and has Christian values. We never wanted multiculturalism, it was forced on us, and is now being rammed down our children’s throats. Again, as you said, Europe has realized it was a huge mistake. We will too, as they now are in America.
The source of all of this was that idiot Trudeau, and his legacy is now damaging us beyond description. But none of this will change until WE FIGHT BACK !!! We need to be organized determined and dedicated. It begins at the grass roots level and builds there. Let’s start now and form a new Canadian conservative resistance, as you said, our own resistance.
November 14th, 2010 at 12:39 pm
Oh, and one more thing… support Sun TV.Its like Fox News in Canada, and oppose The Friends of Canadian Broadcasting who want to destroy free speech by destroying Sun TV before it gets started. Long live the new Conservative movement in Canada.

Hey Mr. Not a retard (unlike you) you really, really are!!! As you so pointed out all the problems with the U.S.A?? forgetting this is Canada MORON. What the hell do new immigrants to the U.S.A have to do with Canadians finally standing up and saying enough is enough? You fucking moron, do I think the poster of this posting used some wrong points like medical care and our educational system being run by the Government yes! as I think this is a good thing, until of course they start cutting programs in the class room and decreasing beds and type of medical care you receive. I think this is the point the poster was trying to make, they may just weren’t eloquent enough with how they were trying to put forth. To say at the bottom of the your note you can point them out to a bridge so they can jump, you really must be a freaking Yankee as you clearing think helping them commit suicide is better than educating them. Oh and I am not a pussy that will hide behind a call sign/handle my Name is William Cameron and I am a pissed off Canadian. So in short if you’re gonna hack on a Canadian posting about Canadian politics don’t use American examples we already know we are better than them.

Isn’t the Christian Heritage Party and the Tea Party having the same ideals an example of multiculturalism? We certainly weren’t born the same way.
February 18th, 2011 at 8:52 pm
isn’t the christian hertitage party of Canada and the tea party of the US having the same ideas an example of multiculturalism? We certainly weren’t born the same way, and any Canadian will insist they are not American.
