My name is Maria, I am a reader of your column in the Sun and an occasional viewer of your television program. I am writing to inform you of some concerns I have about one of your guests on tomorrow’s show, Andrew Lawton. Firstly, I’m not a liberal or a conservative or anything really. I’m a free thinker, open to any ideas so long as they benefit society as a whole. However, I have to question your judgement in allowing such a radical neo-conservative to be a panelist on your show. He seems to forever be in search of controversy based on things I’ve read on his blog, including trying to accuse a campus organization of supporting child pornography…perhaps he’s furthering an anti-gay agenda? I fully believe in free speech for most people, but people like him who say such hateful things shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a microphone.

Andrew, you spoke well and you argued your points superbly.
May I put forward a theory I've long held: When people like the resident Leftist you sat beside say "of course all MSM outlets have a bias" I don't think they really believe it.
Based on years of anecdotal evidence, I don't believe that most Liberal & NDP voters actually think that the CBC or the Toronto Star or The Globe & Mail have any bias.

Pelalusa, thank you! Your theory most certainly makes sense. I always get a kick out of the fact that conservatives think the Globe and Mail has a liberal bias, and liberals think that the Globe has a conservative bias.
Congratulations, Andrew, for drawing Hard-Left fire from one of the self-professed "free thinker" folks who falsely claim to not be right/left, but who really are.
They fear your inconvenient opinion/analysis of things based on your observation of real-world evidence. They can't stand astute analysis because it tends to shatter their comfortably delusional worldview.
When we come a-knocking on their ideological boxes, they get scared, because they fear what's beyond the confines of their comfy, dogmatic psychological boxes. They don't want to have to leave their boxes and explore the real world, so they try to shut us up by making unsubstantiated allegations such as we "hate" this and we "hate" that, and that because of this alleged "hatred", we must necessarily be denied an equal voice in the marketplace of points of view. This is what Maria was doing.
Maria is much like Warren Kinsella when he tried to get Kathy Shaidle banned from expressing her point of view in the big media. And like Syed Soharwardy using the HRC to try to shut up and punish Ezra Levant for simply publishing the Mohammed cartoons for informational purposes.
One must wonder who "Maria" really is. Could be anyone. Could be one of those Hard-Left activists whose whole life is about attacking those who come a-knocking on their comfy little perceptual, delusional mental boxes.

I have to agree with Pelalusa also, being an ex hard core liberal. They don't really believe it. It's amazing what they believe really.
