AIG Bonus Outrage

It is hard to imagine a way for politicians to be held in lower regard than they already are. However, just when you thought they were as low as they could get, they never cease to amaze you, finding new ways to lower your perception of them.

AIG has received $173 billion in bailout funds. Using that money they payed $165 million in contactually obligated bonuses. This has resulted in a firestorm of outrage from posturing, populist politicians and the media. In response, the Congress voted 328-93 in favor of taxing these bonuses at a 90% rate. The loathsome Charles Schumer, a Democrat, assured Americans “we will do everything within our power to prevent those payments from being made.” Senator Chuck Grassley, a Republican, said AIG executives that were paid bonuses should “do one of two things: resign or commit suicide.” New York Chief thug (Attorney General) Andrew Cuomo subpoenaed the names of everyone that received a bonus, claiming that the public had a right to know who they were. Most of you are thinking: Ya, that’s right, those idiots caused this! Screw them! Think again.
First, an issue of lesser importance is that AIG did not break any laws. When The One rushed through the Generational Theft Act of 2009, spending nearly $1 trillion, maybe Congress should have red the 1,00 page bill. Had they, they would understand that the what AIG did was entirely legal. But this is of secondary importance.
Second, $165 million? The government just spent TRILLIONS of dollars on worthless projects and you’re worried about this? Give me a break!
The more important issue is what the politicians are doing here. What has America come to when a bunch detestable life forms that infest Washington D.C. can come and decide who deserves what. You may revel in the ‘populist’ sentiment now, railing against those evil AIG executives, but you’re next. What about when they tell you you can’t earn that much selling selling apples on the corner? The government is interfering with every aspect of your life. They are telling you what type of light bulbs you can buy, next they’ll be telling you what type of car you can drive, what temperature you can keep your house at, and so on and so forth. Liberty is being stolen by a tyrannical mob in the name of the ‘little guy.’ They must be stopped. Contracts must be honored and the government ought to back off. I’ll tell you one thing, if the government wants my incandescent lights they’ll have to pry them from my cold, dead hand. 

Pelosi Hits A New Low

Speakerette Pelosi recently found the time to chastise a group for their thuggish tactics, their gestapo style raids and the ‘un-American’ behavior. Was she referring to terrorists? No. Illegal immigrant criminals? No. Street gangs? No. Who were these dastardly brutes that the Speakerette was lambasting? American law enforcement officials. The detestable Nancy Pelosi was speaking at a church full of law breaking illegal immigrants and told them they are all ‘very, very patriotic’ whereas the law enforcement officials, enforcing laws that Pelosi’s congress passed, are ‘un-American.’ 
Using Pelsoi’s definition of patriotism Benedict Arnold would also probably have been ‘very, very patriotic.’ Pelosi is a blithering idiot. It is sad that a person of such a low caliber can rise to such a level of power. She undermines America every opportunity she gets. Being called a patriot by Pelosi is like being called ‘honorable’ by Der Schlik Meister. 
As for Pelosi’s ’un-American’  claim, she didn’t stop there. She piled it on, accusing law enforcement agents of ‘kicking doors down in the middle of the night and sending parent[s] away from their families.’ Pelosi continued with ‘these raids must end. ‘The raids must end.’ And finally, she chanted ‘si se puede’ (yes we can). 
Demonizing the people that risk their lives every day in order to protect people that break the law. This woman is not fit to be a dog catcher, never mind Speaker of the House. Pelsoi is a genuine embarrassment for the United States. There is a positive story here though: 2010 is under 2 years away
Ironically, the woman who pushed birth control in the ‘stimulus’ bill because human beings were too expensive now says ‘we think that families are the cornerstone of our society and our nation.’ I guess that only applies if you have entered the country illegally.

Anti-Police Brutality Riot Gets Violent

Isn’t this ironic… in the Democratic People’s Republic of Montreal a group of delinquents organized an anti-Police rally, which they claim shed light on police brutality. In fact, the only police brutality that needs to be prevented is the brutality shown by ungrateful citizens to the heros that put their lives on the line every day and night to protect us all. However, in what has become a hallmark of events of this nature, the protesters became violent and engaged in vandalism, resulting in over 200 arrests. 

Street gangs and thugs rule the streets and a coalition of hopeless, hysterical, hypochondriacs and pusillanimous pussyfooters worry that criminals are brutalized by the police. Police brutality? That is a joke. While there are always outliers, the vast majority of police officers are brave citizens who risk their lives to serve their country. Demonstrations against police are always carried out by long haired, maggot infested, dope smoking, glittering jewels of colossal ignorance. Protesters like the aforementioned ones lower the lowest common denominator with every word that drivels out of their pathetic mouths.

They Know The Phone Always Rings

Imagine that it is November 2004- President Bush is in a battle with Sen. Jean Francois-Kerri, who served in Vietnam, for the Presidency of the United States. The EVIL mastermind, Karl Rove, calls the odious FOX News and speaks with: Brit Hume, Bill O’reilly and Sean Hannity, to discuss how they will get the President’s message out that day. Picture the unctuous media’s outcry. I could just see the king of swarm, Chris ‘thrill up my leg’ Matthews hyperventilating while bemoaning the tactics of the Bush White House. Next, Dan Blather, of forged document fame, would be apoplectic. Can anyone deny that such a breach of journalistic integrity would indeed be shameful and covered 24/7?

Such a breach of trust is occurring ever single day. There’s just one small caveat, it’s not Rove, Hume, O’reilly and Hannity, it’s: Emanuel Carville, Begala and Stephanopoulos. Rahm ‘Dead Fish‘ Emanuel is The One’s Chief of Staff. James ‘Cobra Head‘ Carville is a CNN ‘analyst’. Paul ‘The Forehead‘ Begala is a CNN ‘analyst’. George ‘Georgi-Porgy Snuffleupagus’ Stephanopoulos hosts ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos. These 4 horsemen of the apocalypse all served under Kaiser Wilhelm von skirtchaser von draftdodger von Der Schlick Meister. Now Rahmbo calls the other 3 dummfopfs every morning to hone The One’s message. I’m sure that the 3 members of the completely unbiased, entirely objective mainstream media are not influenced by this at all though. In the morning they are a bunch of partisan hacks, but in the evening they are all honest reporters. If you believe that I have a bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell you. But don’t expect any suspicion from the other paragons of integrity in the media. Instead, they fawn over this beautiful relationship. The POLITICO ends their love story on this adorable group of friends with this:
“It’s a testament to the power of friendship in a place that really does run on relationships,” said Dee Dee Myers, who worked with all four members of the daily call in the 1992 campaign. “In such a fickle town they know they know the phone always rings.”

Isn’t that endearing? These partisan mudslingers have such a deep friendship that they find the time to make sure the media receives its daily marching orders from The One every day! You know, one might become somewhat of a cynic reading about politics, but it’s stories like this one that remind you, you have no idea how bad it really is.

Don Van Rascaleone Calls In A Favor

In this post I gave a quote from Alexis de Tocqueville about how great America’s schools were 200 years ago. In case you haven’t met the average student, things aren’t quite what they were when Mr. de Tocqueville went to the USA. Forget understanding the intricacies of the Constitution, now students are lucky if they can read after they graduate high school. Things only gets worse in the communist indoctrination camps known as universities. 
D.C. public schools are the worst offenders. They have a 36% proficiency level in mathematics and a 39% level in reading. Of course, if you’re not killed in one of these schools you should consider yourself lucky. It costs $13,000 per pupil in D.C.. In order to combat the education travesty a voucher system was implemented, giving parents $7,500, and allowing them to choose better schools. However, vouchers gives the hoi palloi choice, and in the age of The One we can’t have that. While the hoi oligoi can send their children to Sidwell and Friends, the hoi palloi should be forced to use the disgraceful public education. That’s right, the party that cares, that is compassionate, that ‘feels your pain’ just doesn’t care about YOU, unless of course you are a major constituency (outside of the deceased), like the NEA, that needs to be paid off. 
Looks like Don Van Rascaleone (no offense to the Corleone family) is calling that favor after all. 

The War on Prosperity Continues

When Ronald Reagan attended CPAC in 1981 he said he wanted to dance with the people that brought him to the presidency. Well, The One has thrown his preacher, terrorist friends and grandmother under the bus, but he is being loyal to the unions. With “the worst economy since the great depression” (a total canard), the DummycRATs are worried about paying off the unions that got them elected. 

The Orwellian “Employee Free Choice Act”  would eliminate the secret ballot for workers when voting on unionization. That would be like having the right to vote for opposition parties in North Korea, no offense to the North Koreans. Unions bosses are like the mob, without the honor. Without the secret ballot unions will force unionization down the throats of every business, where they can do for successful firms what they have done for the automotive industry.
We don’t need to wait to see what the effects of union card check legislation will be. Wal-Mart, one of the few American businesses not afflicted with the plague of unionized workers, is going to be public enemy #1 for the union thugs. Anticipating this, today, Citigroup downgraded Wal-Mart stock from ‘buy’ to ‘hold’. If the unions succeed another great symbol of American success will be destroyed by the looters.
Union card-check is undemocratic. It will destroy industry. It will cost jobs. It will lower the standard of living in the United States. In other words, it will fit in nicely with the rest of The One’s socialist destroy the country legislation.  
 

This Man Must Never Be Taken Seriously Again… Ever

“States like these, and their terrorist allies, constitute an axis of evil…” That was from President Bush’s 2002 State of the Union address. Oddly, the speechwriter who coined the phrase ‘axis of evil’ has made it an issue that in fact he coined the phrase. Unlike most speech writers, this man actually takes more credit for the phrase than the man who uttered it. Now this man has anointed himself the smartest man in the room, the political strategist who is above it all, and has a plan to ‘win’. This man is someone I once admired. For those of you that have not figured it out yet, I am referring to David Frum.

David Frum used to write books like ‘An End to Evil’,  ’Dead Right’ an even ‘The Right Man’ (about President Bush). Now, Frum peddles drivel like ‘Comeback; Conservatism that Can Win Again’. Frum has become the reincarnation Nelson Rockefeller. He claims that the only type of ‘conservatism’ that can ‘win again’ is one that gets rid of: pro-lifers, traditionalists, advocates of small government and tax cutters, to name a few. The new ‘tent’ Frum hopes to erect will include: global warming kooks, communist healthcare and an expanded and ‘energetic’ government. In short, Frum is a liberal. However, as wrong as Frum’s opinions may be, he is entitled to them. What makes Frum such a scoundrel are the personal shots he recently took at Rush Limbaugh. Here is what the wizard of smart had to say about the King of Talk Radio:
“A man who is aggressive, bombastic, cutting, sarcastic, who dismisses the concerned citizens in network news focus groups as ‘losers.’ With his private plane and cigars, his history of drug dependency and his personal bulk, not to mention his marital history, Rush is a walking stereotype of self-indulgence.”

Thanks for the heady debate, David. You really raised the bar there. Frum has gone way off the reservation and now sees fit to personally attack the last man standing. Frum backed up his assertions in this meandering Newsweek article. In it, Frum concluded that all of Rush’s 20 million + listeners are a bunch of mind numbed robots, awaiting marching orders. You know, the way Rockefellerites characterized Reaganites. ‘Dittoheads’ are apparently too stupid to understand that Frum and his ilk are going to save the GOP. Rush fans are caught up in their archaic beliefs, namely, conservatism, when they should accept Frum’s neo-Rockefellerism instead. Here’s an idea David, o wizard of smart: maybe we listen to Rush because he says what we believe. Our principles are not based on expediency, they are core beliefs. Margaret Thatcher, another antiquated conservative to you I’m sure, used to say ‘first you win the debate, then you win the election.’ If Frum is correct, conservatives need to do a better job explaining conservatism. The goal is not getting elected for the sake of getting elected, the goal is implementing conservative policies. David Frum’s suggestions are the exact opposite of what is needed. Moreover, his personal shots at Rush Limbaugh are entirely unwarranted. Rush is the leader of the conservative movement, and God willing, he will prevent the movement from being co-opted by jealous, self-righteous jerks like David Frum. As the Great One said “Hey, Frum: you’re a putz.”

Obama's Panama Canal Treaty

“President Barack Obama is poised to offer an olive branch to Cuba in an effort to repair the US’s tattered reputation in Latin America” is how an article in todays UK Guardian begins. The One has already determined that Afghanistan is a failure, it is nice to see that He has found a new way to project weakness. This is reminiscent of Obama Sr., Jimmy Carter, giving the Panama Canal away to a tinpot dictator in 1977.

Some may ask: what’s wrong with Cuba? Isn’t it just a small peaceful island with some well-meaning, big hearted ‘reformers’? Doesn’t Cuba have the world’s best healthcare system? Unfortunately, that is the impression many of today’s generation have of the island gulag. They have been spoon fed this myth that communism isn’t really that bad and that Cuba is a great place, unlike the EVIL USA. Doubt it? Just take a look at all the brain-dead people that proudly wear t-shirts displaying the Heinrich Himmler of Cuba, history’s greatest coward, Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara. In fact, Guevara is the main character in a new Hollywood hagiography. No word yet on the movies portrayal of the La Cabana or Guanacahibes prison camps, where Guevara executed hundreds of people for crimes like: homosexuality, listening to rock music, and other ‘anti-social’ elements. Here are some choice quotes from Guevara regarding ‘equality’:

“The black is indolent and a dreamer; spending his meager wage on frivolity or drink; the European has a tradition of work and saving,”

“South American peasants are simply little animals.”

“Mexicans are a rabble of illiterate Indians.”


But I’m sure Guevara meant well. If The One goes through with his plan to normalize relations with Cuba all the Americans that fled Castro’s reign of terror will not be able to recoup any of the property that was stolen from them 50 years ago by the communist thugs that overran the island. If I was from Cuba I would never forget the party that betrayed Elian Gonzalez just over a decade ago, and now sees fit to screw all the freedom loving Americans that fled to freedom.

And how about the ‘repair the US’s tattered reputation in Latin America’ part? Apparently the Brazilian President is going to tell The One that ‘the region views the US embargo as anachronistic and vindictive. Easing it would help mend Washington’s strained relations with the “pink tide” of leftist governments.’ If they don’t like what America is doing… screw them! Why should the most powerful nation on earth kowtow to a bunch of communists (save the valiant President of Columbia, Alvaro Uribe)? Latin America is in a state of disrepair because they are communists. They are a perfect example of what NOT to do. ‘Repair the US’s ta
ttered reputation’? Give me a break. They are the ones that should repair their tattered reputation with the United Sates.

The Guardian article also quotes some pinko academic who said this of The One’s proposed policies towards the island gulag: “It’s the beginning of the end of the policies we have had towards Cuba for 50 years. It’s achieved nothing, it’s an embarrassment.” So far the only embarrassment has been the timidity, trepidation and willingness to surrender whenever presented with an opportunity of the Obama administration. America should never grovel in front of other, lesser, weaker countries. A great patriot once said “if we know anything, it is that weakness is provocative.” The One is projecting weakness and emboldening the enemies of freedom. The One must remember what a great general said some time ago is true: “There is no substitute for victory.”

I Hope He Fails

Obama’s Radicalism Is Killing the Dow is the title of an article in today’s Wall Street Journal. The article details how the Marxist policies of Dear Leader, The One, are pushing the United Sates closer and closer to precipice. 

The article begins with:
The illusion that Barack Obama will lead from the economic center has quickly come to an end. Instead of combining the best policies of past DemocRATic president – John Kennedy on taxes, Bill Clinton on welfare reform and a balanced budget, for instance – President Obama is returning to Jimmy Carter’s high taxes and Mr. Clinton’s draconian defense drawdown.

Well that’s encouraging! The One represents the worst of the worst, the bottom of the barrel. Not that that is surprising to the few people who actually listened to what He said on the campaign trail as opposed to how He said it.   

On this page I believe we have sufficiently dealt with the mounting debt and obscene pork in The One’s plethora of new spending bills. However, the aforementioned WSJ article also documents the damage The One’s policies will inflict on the American taxpayer. The EVIL rich are going to get it right between the eyes! income taxes up to at least 39.6%, probably higher. Capital gains rate up to 20%. Will these policies increase government revenues to help the beleaguered poverty stricken (now defined as people who can only afford 1 house) in America? Of course not! The One has even acknowledged that these moves will do nothing but ‘increase fairness’.  What else would you expect from a communist? Besides the fact that His logic is the definition of asinine, let’s talk about fairness. The top 50% of earners pay 97% of all taxes, the top 25% pay 86% and the top 1% pay 39% of all taxes. Is that fair? But why would the leftists care about taxes? They don’t even pay them! That goes for the new tax cheats, as well as the more ‘sophisticated’ ones. The petulant, sophomoric neophyte now residing in the White House doesn’t know the first thing about taxes (his specialty is voter fraud, I mean ‘community organizing’. By the way, did any of his community organizing have to do with forcing bad loans to people who couldn’t afford their mortgages? I’m just asking…). He is only interested in penalizing success and rewarding incompetence.  

Don’t worry, it’s just the rich that are going to get hurt, let’s soak them! Even if that were the case, that it was only the top 1% that would get hurt, which any sentient being realizes it won’t be, why would that be okay? If someone works hard and is rewarded by the free market for it do we want the government to tear them down? The answer better be an emphatic ‘NO!’ otherwise the USA will look like Europe. Not the Europe that all you lazy, communist university students/graduates romanticize about, the real Europe. The Europe with permanent double-digit unemployment, a standard of living stuck 30% below that of the United Sates and an ever expanding welfare sate that destroys motivation, swallows profits and abolishes individual’s ability to fail, and to succeed. However, The One is moving more people by the day onto the government dole. Currently, 38% of the people do not pay taxes. The One proposes moving that number up to 50%. That means that half of the people will be able to vote to bleed the other 50% dry. That would be disastrous.

The free-market, industrialists, entrepreneurs, and all the people that make the country work know The One has no plan to ‘fix’ the economy. That is why the Dow falls by record numbers every day. The One’s ‘solution’ of education, healthcare and energy is anything but a solution. None of those issues have the first thing to do with the economic ‘crisis’. Moreover, the proposed ‘solutions’ ought to scare the hell out of everyone. 
Education – more government interference. When Alexis de Tocqueville came to America in the 18th century he recorded:
…every citizen receives the elementary notion of human knowledge; he is taught, moreover, the doctrines and the evidence of his religion, the history of his country, and the leading features of its Constitution… it is extremely rare to find a person imperfectly acquainted with all these things, and a person wholly ignorant is a sort of phenomenon.

Now, thanks to the NEA and other government and union thugs, most kids can’t even name the second president of the United Sates; they think the founders were a bunch of slave owning bigots; and they have elected a fellow Marxist ideologue as President. There is a reason Lenin said “give me four years to teach the children.” Now, with universal College education coming down the pike, we can expect even more worthless smart asses who add nothing to society. Net loser (of the black hole variety).

Healthcare – on the path to totalitarian healthcare. If The One has his way, the United Sates will sacrifice the world’s best healthcare system to join North Korea, Cuba and Canada as the only countries in the world that force 100% communist healthcare on the people. I can tell you from experience, it is horrible. Every Canadian has their own horror story of waiting in an emergency room for hours trying to get treatment. Net loser (another black hole, but also Pandora’s box).
Energy – Cap and Trade – a carbon tax. For people who thought that productivity just wasn’t being adequately penalized, The One introduces a tax on all productivity! Don’t worry, ‘alternative’ energy now makes up 1% of all energy in the United States, but with a few trillion dollar$, I’m sure The One can double that within a decade! Net loser.
This economic ‘crisis’ is not as bad as the one Ronaldus Magnus dealt with when he took over from The one’s mentor, Jimmah Carter. Reagan turned the ‘age of malaise’ around and spawned a quarter century of unfettered growth. The One is using the downturn to foist socialism onto America.  The problem is, as Lady Thatcher so eloquently put it, “the biggest problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.” For these reasons, I, like Rush,  HOPE HE FAILS.

Criticizing Rush is Criticizing Conservatism

Over at National Review Online Jonah Goldberg has a piece on the war against Rush. What is of interest is not the malarky liberals spout about Rush. Rather, criticisms of Rush from the right are what caught my eye.

‘Well-known’ NRO writer, John Derbyshire, derides “lowbrow conservatism” in an article entitled How Radio Wrecks the Right. The otherwise paranoid and delusional Derbyshire goes on to castigate the King of Talk Radio and others in the industry, concluding with “why have we allowed the carny barkers to run away with the right?” Why have we allowed anyone to represent the right? No one allowed Rush to represent the right, he represents the right because he is the only unbending voice of conservatism that will never buckle under pressure. Rush has been there through good times and bad, never wavering. That is why we listen to Rush. He is the last man standing. 
Derbyshire complains that Rush is no William F. Buckley Jr. As evidence, Derbyshire quotes Mr. Buckley’s rebarbative son, Christopher. What better way to make your case than to source the moron who voted for The One, saying he would not govern as a liberal. How’s that one working out Chris? Quite frankly, voices like Derbyshire’s are immensely irritating. Where does he come off castigating Rush? One of the primary reasons for the ascendancy and sustained life of conservatism is Rush Limbaugh. Hacks like Derbyshire owe Rush a great deal of gratitude. Rush has popularized conservatism, with his 22 million+ person daily audience. 
Others on the right have tried to marginalize Rush, like the once great David Frum. Now, Frum and his ilk say that Rush stands in the way of progress for the GOP. Frum says the GOP should be more welcoming of government intervention in our lives. First, Rush is not the GOP, he is a conservative. Second, if only Rush was the GOP! All these wizards of smart got what they wanted in Senator McCain, a milquetoast Republican. What happened? He lost! If the GOP wants to see the problem they should look in the mirror. If they want the antidote they ought to start listening to Rush.
