CPAC Day 2: Mitt Romney

Gov. Romney was introduced by American Conservative Union Chairman, David Keene, who welcomed Romney to the conservative family. Keene repeatedly said of Romney that he “gets it.” It would appear as though the CPAC audience agreed.

Romney received a very warm welcome form CPAC attendees. He was interrupted once by a spectator that shouted out “welcome to the family!”
Mitt gave his conservative vision of the future. He said that Detroit has to fix itself. That attitude was very well received at CPAC
The best part of Gov. Romney’s speech was the part pertaining to foreign policy. Romney pointed out that the troops in Iraq succeeded not because of The One’s surrender rhetoric, but in spite of it. Also, Romney, like Senator McConnell, who spoke earlier today, said he was opposed to closing club Gitmo (Romney had me 2 years ago when he said he wanted to double the size of Gitmo).
Afterwards, Gov. Romney shook hands and took pictures with his adoring fans at CPAC.
p.s. best quote of the day was from Newt:
re: Obama carbon tax scheme “we’re not going to raise taxes on anyone who earns less than $250,000 per year, unless you use electricity, gasoline, or natural gas to heat your home.”

Shocking: Naive Idiots Learn Their Lesson

I love this Drudge Report headline: JEWISH LEADERS: SHE’S NOT THE HILLARY WE KNEW. Her thighness, Shriallry Clinton, The One’s Secretary of Defeat, has….jumped on the anti-Israel bandwagon. Shocking!

Mortimer Zuckerman, publisher of the New York Daily News and member of the NYC Jewish Community Relations Council. said “I am very surprised, frankly, at this statement from the United States government and from the secretary of state.” What an idiot.

Who would have thought that an administration led by a man who sat in Jeramiah Wright’s cauldron of hate for 20 YEARS would be anti-Israel? It’s not like Wright said that Israel is a “dirty word.” Or like he accused Israel of being a racist state. Who would have thought that The One would be anti-Israel?
As well, lest we forget that this is the same Mrs. Clinton that embraced Suha Arafat.
Yet some idiots thought that this would not happen.
Clinton, no longer trolling for votes in New York, once again openly embarces her anti-Israel tendencies.

CPAC Day 1 Wrap-up

Day 1 at CPAC has come to a close.

Tonight’s dinner featured the new Chairman of the RNC, Michael Steele. He was his usual articulate self. He spoke about his plan to bring conservatism out of the wilderness. It’s nice to have him as the face of the party.
There were many other speakers at dinner, but the one that I most enjoyed by M. Stanton Evans. I like him because of this book.
Overall, a great day.

CPAC Afternoon

So far CPAC has been everything you would expect. It is always nice to be around 9,000 normal people. My first order of business was buying an original Reagan Presidential button.

Rep. Ryan was fantastic, as my colleague has already detailed. Fiscal conservatism and traditionalism. A voice f the future.
Next, I saw Bay Buchanan and Steve Moore from the Wall Street Journal. Bay Buchanan gave a fiery speech imploring conservatives to get things done, and not depend on politicians – a grat message. Moore was also very good, hitting on all the pertinent economic spots.
Rep.Pence was the highlight of the day. He was eloquent and witty. Pence pushed advocated that the GOP return to their conservative principles. He even found time to mock Speakerette Pelosi. He is another conservative voice of the future.
What a joy it is to be in a place where everyone loves Palin!
UPDATE:
Here are some excerpts from today’s speeches that I liked:
From Rep. Ryan:
“My 7 year old daughter showed more restraint when she put together her Christmas list than Democrats in putting together the stimulus.”
“New Marx: From the suckers who followed the rules to the people who borrowed beyond their means.”
“It’s time to scrap the 67,000 pages of the tax code and start anew.”
Ambassador Bolton:
Referring to The One ”Being inconsistent or deceptive is not the same as being a moderate!”
(H/T Ryan for taking notes)
More to come…

Bobby, Bobby!

Last night I eagerly anticipated Governor Jindal’s remarks. I have been a big fan of his since his time in Congress. I sat with a pen and paper, ready to take notes. I wrote down 1 note ‘American Exceptionalism’. Governor Jindal spoke about how every individual can overcome their problems with a belief in themselves and America. Jindal said that the government cannot solve all of our problems for us. Self-reliance and the freedom to succeed. A great message from a GOP star of the future.

The One's Not Quite State of the Union

The One spoke unto the joint session of Congress and all were in awe of his brilliance. The commentators said it was so nice to have an articulate (i.e. liberal windbag) President. The left was in euphoria.

The petulant, sophomoric neophyte posing as a President went down the usual road of socialism, blaming businesses for all our woes, and making absurd promises to the people. He promised to raise taxes on the EEEEVVVVVVVIIILLLLL Rich and demonized bankers, to the roaring approval of the morons in Congress. Next, He promised to help irresponsible home renters, that claim to be owners, by subsidizing their irresponsibility with the money from people whom actually work and pay their taxes, unlike Obama Cabinet officials. Apparently Tony Rezko isn’t available for everyone.
Pathetic.

The One's October Revolution

It would appear as though the October Revolution is about to kick into high gear. The One’s plan to destroy America looks to keep up its torrent pace, with the impeding release the new President’s New Economic Policy. Surprisingly, Peggy Joseph’s mortgage and Henrietta Hughes’s home were not included.

First, The One wants to show everyone that he is as economically illiterate as FDR was. In order to fight the deficit, The One proposes to…raise taxes on the evil, devious, detestable ‘wealthy’. The astoundingly successful Bush tax cuts, which are set to expire in 2011, will not be renewed. Of course, raising these taxes will not just hurt the contemptible ‘wealthy’, it will hurt everyone. Less capital in the private sector + less investments + less incentive to work = less jobs. As well, many small businesses file their taxes using the personal income tax code. What better way to stimulate economic growth in a downturn than tax businesses? Norman Thomas would be proud. But don’t worry, the capital gains rate will also be bumped up 5%, and odious hedge fund managers will also get screwed by the government as well! You can all sleep easier now, more people are getting ripped off by the gargantuan federal government! Looks like The One has learnt from FDR – that is how to turn a recession into a depression. Yes We Can!

The One is also calling upon the spirit of Frank Church in his effort to lose the Global War on Terror so as to turn the planet over to unGodly hordes from east.

Next, The One promises to follow through with his Weimar style economic policies to bankrupt the nation. And, to top all of this off The One will destroy the greatest healthcare system in the world, by imposing North Korea-esque totalitarian healthcare. Right about now I’m hoping for some change I can believe in.

NYT v. The Great Liberator

In her usual soporific fashion, perennial halfwit Maureen Dowd besmirches both The Great Liberator (President Bush 43) and one of my heroes, Vice President Cheney in the pages of the New York Slimes

In the article, terrorist sympathizer Dowd continues with her delusional theory that President Bush was merely a puppet of the Vice President. Next Maureen al-Dowd bin Skyhook peddles the notion that President Bush is some sort of twit who was easily manipulated. However, upon conducting extensive research (reading media matters or some other far-left kook domain) al-Dowda bin Laden has determined that President Bush finally figured out that he was being used by Vice President Cheney. In  sum, it was her usual hit piece against patriotic Americans.
Since President Bush left office (a sad day), he has been subject to countless calumny from the Dummycrats and their willing accomplices, the media. Most recently, President Bush was ranked by a bunch of worthless eggheads as one of the worst Presidents of all time. As are most opinions of left-wing ’intellectuals’ this rating is absolutely asinine. As President, George W. Bush protected America. On September 12, 2001 who would have thought America would not be hit again? The reason the terrorists were thwarted were the policies of President Bush. Taking the fight to the enemy, fighting them in Afghanistan, Iraq, or under any other desolate rock in some foreign hellhole sure beats fighting them at 5th & 57th. Under President Bush the oppressive Taliban regime was overthrown and the butcher of Baghdad was deposed. These two seminal achievements are not to be scoffed at. The One campaigned against a ’3rd Bush term’ – America should have been so lucky.
The cretins at the Slimes can write whatever they want about President Bush, they can’t change the facts, no matter how hard they try. President Bush is a great man and was a great president.

President Bush Hurls The 3rd Strike Against Oppressive Regimes.

California GOP Does The Right Thing?

This week I am in the heart of what used to be Reagan country, but is now better known as Mexifornia. Although the Governator has been a disappointment of epic preparations, there appears to be at least a glimmer of hope here.

The state GOP (not yet on the endangered species list, but edging closer) has stopped the Jerkanator and the Democrats from passing a new obscene liberal tax and waste budget. The battle is over a proposed $14 billion tax hike. Milquetoast Republican ‘leader’, Dave Cogdill wanted to acquiesce to the Dems. demands, so the GOP told him to take a hike. Cogdill was replaced in the middle of the battle by state Senator Dennis Hollingsworth. Hollingsworth’s position is “we don’t want to see taxes increased.” Music to my ears.
The Jerkanator and his socialist acolytes in the state Senate have refused to budge, but so has the GOP. This is the model the national GOP should follow – no retreat, no surrender, no apologies never an inch. As Ayn Rand said “In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit.”
